  • 2026-2027 Handbooks Coming Soon!

  • The middle school runs on a 6 day schedule. The first day of school will be day 1, the next day a day 2, and so on. After day 6, the schedule rotates back to day 1. If school is canceled because of a snow day, we would skip that day in the schedule.

    Morning Routine

The building opens at 7:40. Students can either go up to the cafeteria and get a free breakfast to eat, or they can go to the auditorium. The bell will ring at 7:50 for the school day to begin.

    Afternoon Routine

The school day ends at 2:30. Students will leave their last class, go to their lockers, pack up their backpacks, and get ready to go home.

    • If students take a bus, they will exit the building using the back door on the second floor of the school, right by the cafeteria. There will be teachers outside to help students find what bus they are on.
    • If students are being picked up, they will exit the building using the doors by the auditorium. Parents/guardians will wait in their cars for the students to come out.
    • If students are walking home, they will exit the building using the main doors on the first floor.
  • Bus routes for the district are Bus Routes (Kennedy's buses are on page 4)

If your child stays late, they can take a late bus home at 3:30pm. The late buses are Bus.

There will be 4 late buses, and they make specific stops. It is important that your child knows the name of the bus route (not the #) and the stop they should get off at if they plan to ever take a late bus. (For example, 'Prospect Hill' bus, stop Main @ Nathan.)

This link will bring you to the Waltham Public Schools Transportation Services website.

  • LATE BUS SERVICE FOR WHS, KENNEDY & MCDEVITT Leaves WHS approximately 3:35 PM – 3:45 PM from the main entrance of the school building.

Late Bus Routes  service the high school along with both middle schools and the stops are listed on each of the buses covering late runs. Students should tell the driver which stop they will access when boarding the bus as stops on the route will be made depending on the ridership.

    • Late bus service is not provided on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and on Step Up Day

    • Late bus service during WHS finals week is only provided to middle school students

  • 2026-2027 Menus Coming Soon!

  • ach student will see their MESH classes (Math, English, Science, and History) every day. Students will see their FAPA classes (Fine Arts Performing Arts) 2 days out of the 6 day cycle. If students take a foreign language, they will see that class 4 days out of the 6 day schedule.

Your student's schedule will be visible in Aspen and they will receive a printed copy on the first day of school.

A table displays a middle school schedule with classes listed by day and block.
